The Human Remains (2006)

I spent the first part of this decade transitioning from writer-musician (and sometime visual artist) to writer -director full time. My semi-pro debut was the short film The Human Remains, a flawed and noble film that is dear to my heart . Starring Crystal MacTaggart( who would become a frequent collaborator) as a young woman who survives a suicide attempt only to wake to the limbo that such action creates. Shot in an intimate handheld style to express her mental state and featuring an impressive soundtrack featuring the Gossip, Antony and the Johnsons, Jeff Buckley and Rufus Wainwright, it was a stylish, raw and well received film that helped launch my career.
