After five years (and counting) of making instrumental music as Boarding School I've returned to the land of lyrics with Lovers of the Arctic Circle and a proper solo debut album Lonely Sometimes
Thirteen Songs about former lovers, former bandmates, former cities, and even former versions of myself. It's an eclectic mix of singer-songwriter indie folk, shoegaze and art noise, occasion lapses into electroclash and lofi industrial pop. It's a collection that worked a s a whole but was recorded in multiple sessions (Carborro/Chapel Hill, Seattle, Portland, Reykjavik, & Honolulu) and mixed recently here in Hawaii. some songs are new born, mere months old and some would be old enough to vote.

Survivor's Guilt the debut single/ep from Lovers of the Arctic Circle will first be available exclusively pay-what-you-will via Bandcamp 
It's a fairly dramatic departure from Boarding School stylistically, sonically dissonant and melodic LOTAC is a mix of lofi folk, shoegaze, bedroom singer-songwriter, and art noise. The debut album Lonely Sometimes will be released on December 13th via Le Garçon Sale Records

While Boarding School is on a brief hiatus I found myself writing more traditional singer-songwriter fare and exploring new sonic pallets and suddenly I had a whole record. Actually I had a whole record and an ep/single. Lovers of the Arctic Circle's debut ep Survivor's Guilt drops on September 13th followed by the full album Lonely Sometimes on December 13. Celebrating being stuck on an island for a few years with some gloomy emotional shoegaze.
